2. Operational Guide to AWWA Standard G300: Source Water Protection (No. 20622)
This companion guide provides practical instruction and guidelines for users of AWWA Standard G300, Source Water protection. It suggests various approaches for source water protection programs and includes worksheets and case studies of successful programs.

Please Note:  AWWA opened a 30 day Public Comment Period on the ANSI/AWWA G300 Standard for Source Water Protection on October 25, 2013. The comment period is now closed.

Final publication of the standard may take several months. When it is available, a notice will be published in the official notice section of Journal – American Water Works Association. The standard becomes an effective AWWA standard on the first day of the month following such publication in Journal – American Water Works Association.

This standard describes the essential elements for the effective protection of source waters.

1. Clarification of certain concepts in the Standard
2. Moving optional analysis and plans from Section 4.2 to Section 4.4.
3. Updating concepts and references with information available after 2007.
