Webinar – Minimizing Impact of Highway Snow & Ice Control on our Water Supply

This free webinar  will present information to assist winter‐weather and public works professionals in evaluating winter maintenance materials and operations to help minimize the impact of snow and ice control programs on water resources, including the Potomac River. Webinar is Sept. 20, 2012 10:00 am – Noon.

The webinar will provide  information on:

  • the impact of road deicing activities on the Potomac River,
  • Maryland’s approach to statewide salt management planning,
  • recent research initiatives to evaluate winter maintenance materials and methods,
  • chemical alternatives available for winter roadway deicing, and
  • an overview of the regional cooperative available for purchasing winter weather chemicals.
